City of McAllen Hotel Occupancy Rate Increases

The City of McAllen saw an increase in hotel visitors in the last few months which is indicating that more business and tourism is attracting people to the city.

The report showed an increase of 1.9% and collecting just over $15.5 million dollars in revenue. Other cities throughout Texas aren't showing the same growth with San Antonio only increasing by 0.2% and San Marcos decreasing 1.8%. The City of McAllen says the report is just one of the ways they measure economic success. The report shows the results from the last four months of 2010 and the city hopes that these positive number swill continue into 2011.
