If disaster strikes the City of Edcouch will be ready and the first step in that act is having the proper equipment.

Through a federal resource the city recently received several large pieces of natural disaster equipment. The city has a mobile re-fueling tank, mobile kitchen, mobile generator, five ton truck and two Hummers. The city says they plan to use these items not just to help Edcouch but to the surrounding areas as well.  Edcouch City Manager Mike Mesa stated, "We have to give a really, really  heart felt thanks to the police department. They were on point as a result we have about $600,000 dollars worth of new equipment that this community wouldn't have otherwise."

On top of the equipment, the police department, through a grant from the Governor's Office, now has five new police vehicles.
