Veterans from around Brownsville attended a special ceremony at Veteran's Park Thursday morning.

The event included the raising of the American flag, singing the national anthem as well as a 21 gun salute. The head of the Veterans Post in Brownsville reminded those attending the event to take the time to say thank you to those servicemen and women and the thousand of lives that died in the line of the duty for this country.
