City of Alamo Bans Texting and Driving
ALAMO - The City of Alamo is joining several other Valley cities in the fight to stop drivers from texting and driving.
The city commission passed the texting ban last Tuesday in an effort to prevent any future accidents or death. The city had been debating for some time about whether all electronic devices should be banned. Drivers are still allowed to talk on their cell phones while driving, but using it to send a text message will be illegal. The texting ban will be in full effect by the end of this week and drivers who violate the ban will be cited and fined.
