City of Mission names new Police Chief

The City of Mission has a new full time police chief.

Robert Dominguez was sworn in on Tuesday as Mission's new Police Chief after filling in as interim chief.

Police Chief Dominguez has been on the Mission Police Department for more than 26 years and will oversee nearly 200 officers and civilian staff and commented on his new position stating, "It's safe to say the City of Mission is one of the safest communities in the county of Hidalgo. I'm  proud to say that our UCR records always show that year after year, where we always have our crime rate always reduced. The efforts of our officers always looking for the betterment of the community."

Police Chief Dominguez graduated from Edcouch-Elsa high school and Pan American University.
