City of McAllen to Request FEMA for Storm Damage Assistance
MCALLEN — The City of McAllen continues to clean up the damage from Thursday's storm as more than hundred businesses and homes were damaged from water and hail.
On Monday, city crews were working with citizens to restore their city. Officials say more than thousand homes were damaged and the city is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to seek any assistance available to businesses and residents. Assistant City Manager Pilar Rodriguez stated, "We don't have a determination from FEMA, yet they will take that information and based on all the data we gave them, they will figure out whether or not we will be eligible for any kind of disaster assistance both for the public, such as the City of McAllen and individual assistance for those individuals that were impacted."
City officials are asking for residents to be patient with the clean up process.
