Brownsville's city legal department is currently looking into the arrest of one of it's city commissioners, newly elected Jessica Tetreau-Kalifa.

The District 2 commissioner was arrested on domestic abuse charges over the weekend after a dispute with her husband. Mayor Tony Martinez says, as of now, no action is being taken in regards to her arrest, as the domestic affair has not interfered with her duties as a city commissioner. If the city's legal department finds otherwise appropriate measures may be taken.
