Current Brownsville City Commissioner Edward Camarillo announced his bid for the city's mayor race in May.

Camarillo has served as commissioner for District 4 for the past six years and his goals as mayor would be to lead the City of Brownsville into a stage of economical development. He intends to revitalize the local economy in the downtown area and create enough jobs to raise the income of Brownsville citizens.
