One city in Cameron county may be getting its land back from the Department of Homeland Security if the City Commission approves it.

Brownsville's City Manager, Charlie Cabler says the city and DHS reached an agreement and DHS will return a stretch of land between the Gateway and B&M International bridges. The land was previous taken through eminent domain only if Brownsville follows through on the east loop project.

City officials will meet next week to approve the deal.
