With the rain, there will come mosquitoes, Na'tassia Finley has more on what the city is doing to prepare.

Some of the water from the recent sporadic rain showers will soak into the ground while some of it will puddle up stagnant.

As of now officials with the City of Brownsville's Vector Control Department are out working to locate areas that problems will likely rise as the rain continues to fall.

Art Rodriguez, City Health Director, says crews are setting up more traps than usual to assist with mosquito testing, due to the fact that West Nile cases in Central Texas have popped up as well as Dengue Fever cases right across the border.

Over the weekend Vector crews didn't stay stagnant though, they were out larvaciding for the future outbreak of mosquitoes that could be hatching within this next week and spraying to kill off adult mosquitoes that are currently lurking around.

Meanwhile, the department is currently installing new GPS systems in their mosquito spray trucks to help better track where they've sprayed and how much chemical they're putting out.
