City and Hospital Staff Discuss Hurricane Preparedness
Hurricane season is just two weeks away and city leaders and staff from Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen gathered to discuss preparations for hurricane season.
Issues ranged from how the hospital will run if in fact, a hurricane does hit our area, to reminders for preparing yourself for a storm. Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos was one of the speakers and he says forecasters have predicted that this year's season is expected to be an active one and people need to be proactive when it comes to preparing for a storm.
If a hurricane should hit our area and you need transportation out of the Valley you'll need to sign up with 211 so they can save you a spot on an evacuation bus.
