Local medical experts say it's a problem that's becoming worse.  Family Practitioner  Dr. Yvonne Bracamontes believes it is an epidemic, which is affecting much our population here in South Texas.  Bracamontes believes that the high obesity rate in South Texas is attributed to the lack of access to outdoor parks, walkways, and even bike trails.

A new study conducted by the Journal of Pediatrics believes TV food ads could also be fueling childhood obesity by making kids more susceptible to eating unhealthy.  New studies also show that nearly one-third of U.S. kids aged 4 to 19 eat fast food on a daily basis.
