Child In CPS Custody After Meth Bust In San Juan
SAN JUAN- Three people are behind bars and a two year old child is in Child Protective Service's custody after authorities busted a meth lab at an Upper Valley home.
San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez tells News Center 23 that his department along with the U.S. Marshall's office were conducting a federal drug warrant at the 200 block of East Sunset, and in that home's attic they found a meth lab.
According to police, Teresa Dawn Burton, Joseph Shane Brooks and Lauren Ashley Marley were all taken into custody Friday night.
Police say investigators found several chemicals and items that were being used to run the meth lab. A two year old child was in the home at the time of the arrest and is now in CPS custody Monday night.
Officers dismantled the lab and removed the chemicals from the area. The trio have been formally charged with possession of a controlled substance and are on a $5,000 PR bond.
