This was the scene earlier today as a chase ended at the intersection of Ed Carey Dr and Frontage Rd.
Police say it started on New Hampshire Ave.  A special investigations unit was following the blue pick up truck for a traffic violation. It later slammed into a silver Nissan.

One of the passengers of the NIssan, a 44 year old woman, later died.
Police combed the scene of the accident for hours. Investigators packed their trucks with bags of evidence.
The driver and the passenger of the vehicle face a number of charges.
Police have yet to identify the victim of this fatal crash and plan a full investigation.
