The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce organized a free workshop on Wednesday in McAllen offering help to victims of domestic violence and child abuse.

Several members of the community gathered to discuss the issue and representatives from the Sheriff's Department and local organizations spoke at the event. The meeting offered several ways for women and families to receive help and information about abuse. The organization says it recognizes that many women and children in the Valley are fearful for their lives.

If you know someone who is a victim of domestic violence the Chamber of Commerce has help and information available. To sign up for a free workshop you can contact the organization at 956.928.0060.
