CBP specialists checking importations of flowers

With Mother's Day celebrations nearing this weekend, Custom and Border Protection agriculture specialist are checking personal and commercial importations of flowers.

Specialist are making sure the flowers are free from insects, pests and diseases that could harm agricultural and floral industries in the United States.

CBP is reminding border crossers, who plan to import flowers from Mexico, that some flowers and plants, found in floral arrangements, are prohibited due to pest risk.
