Custom and Border Protection officers, working the Pharr port of entry, have seized over $1 million in narcotics in two separate incidents.

In the first one occurring on Wednesday, August 7th, CBP officers encountered a gray 1999 Nissan Altima driven by a 27 year-old Mexican man. An officer referred the driver to a secondary inspection and during a search of the vehicle officers discovered 12 packages of alleged cocaine, with an estimated value of $959,000, hidden within the vehicle.

On the same day CBP officers came into contact with a 23 year-old Mexican man driving a maroon 2003 Dodge Dakota truck. He was sent to a secondary inspection where officers found 6 packages of alleged meth, estimated at $196,000, concealed inside the battery.

CBP-OFO arrested both men and subsequently released them to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations agents for further investigation.
