This past weekend Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted a large amount of methamphetamine at the Veterans port of entry.

On March 29, an officer sent a 2002 Ford Ranger truck, driven by a Georgia woman, to a secondary inspection for further examination. During the secondary examination, officers discovered four statues molded out of meth and 24 packages hidden within the tires of the vehicle.

CBP officers removed the statues, weighing close to 43 pounds, and also removed the packages inside the tires which weighed close to 46 pounds.

Officers estimate the street value of the combined seizure is $1.3 million. The driver and vehicle were turned over to Homeland Security Investigators for further investigation.
