CBP officers arrest San Benito resident on child molestation warrant

ROMA, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Custom officers at the Roma port of entry arrested a Mexican man wanted on child molestation charges in Cameron County.
CBP agents encountered Jacobo Rodriguez Pena, a permanent resident from San Benito, as he attempted to enter the country as a pedestrian.
Agents were handed an expired document which Pena stated he wanted to renew, but during a database search, it was revealed Pena had an outstanding warrant on child fondling/molestation charge.
Pena was released to the Roma Police Department and transported to Starr County jail to be transferred to Cameron County.
