Thieves drive truck through liquor store wall to reach ATM inside.

Police in Richardson, Texas hope surveillance video will help them identify five men involved in a dramatic smash and grab robbery.

The men drove a stolen pickup truck through the wall of the Icehouse Beverages liquor store in order to get to an ATM inside.

"They were very well organized. They knew what they were doing. This is not the first time they've done this type of an offense," says Richardson Police Sgt. Kevin Perlich.

After smashing into the store with the truck the gang loaded the ATM into a stolen van and sped away.

That vehicle and the remains of the smashed ATM were found abandoned in a nearby park.

"They propped the ATM machine up against a tree and apparently used the van then to ram the ATM machine again until they were able to split the ATM machine open and retrieve the contents from it," Sgt. Perlich explains.

Police say the thieves only got away with a couple hundred dollars each.
