Catholic Charities to accept donation items for victims of Oklahoma tornadoes
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — One local house of worship is holding a disaster relief drive in support of the Oklahoma tornado victims.
The Parish of Lord of Divine Mercy, working with Diocese of Brownsville and Catholic Charities, is asking for the public's help in donating supplies that will be sent to victims in the areas damaged by the storms.
A 53 foot trailer will be parked at Sunrise Mall beginning June 6th through Saturday, June 8th to accept a list of donations from the public. The list below has several items that have been requested by the Catholic Charities of Oklahoma:
|Pillows||Dog and cat food|
|Blankets and Sheets||Pots and pans|
|Disinfectant wipes||Canned goods(non-perishable food)|
|Toiletries(toothpaste, soap, shampoo, shaving cream, etc.)||Monetary donations|
Donations will be accepted and all volunteers can assist during these times:
- - Thursday, June 6 – from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- - Friday, June 7 – from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- - Saturday, June 8 – from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- - The trailer will head to Oklahoma on Saturday, June 8 at 9 p.m.
