RIO GRANDE VALLEY - There is a huge shortage of child advocates needed in the Valley. CASA is a non-profit organization that helps children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.

The child advocate works with the child to make sure all of their needs are being met. But of the 300 children in the CASA program in Willacy and Cameron county, there are only 60 child advocates available.

News Center 23 Reporter Erin Murray tells us more.

If you want to become a child advocate, please call CASA at 956-546-6545 or visit the CASA website www.BecomeACASA.org
