Carbon Monoxide Detectors Not Required in Classrooms

The Brownsville I.S.D. is asking parents and teachers that they need not be concerned about the absence of carbon monoxide detectors in classrooms. Their position on the issue is that detectors are not required and Fire Marshal Armando Lucio says since the schools have no gas appliances there is no need for the detectors. While carbon monoxide detectors are not required, smoke detectors are and the district has confirmed that all school campuses have them installed.
