Cameron county ranks third in the state for the highest percentage of uninsured drivers according to Texassure which reports that the county has 57,000 uninsured drivers. That number is about a fifth of all drivers in the county and many residents are not surprised with that number. Hidalgo county ranked fifth in the state for uninsured drivers.
