CAMERON COUNTY - The Feds have given the I-69 project a big thumbs up. The Federal highway administration says the road upgrade between Brownsville and Corpus Christi pose no environmental problems. The upgrades include new bypasses and overpasses through small towns.

"it's something that is long overdue long needed for job creation economic development and really for entrepreneurs to invest in south Texas."

Tex Dot has already invested 250 million dollars in the I-69 project.
