Cameron County Election Department Takes Measured Approach on Election Results

The Cameron County Election Department took a measured approach on Tuesday's primary election returns, by releasing the numbers slowly, which caused some concern. Administrator Roger Ortiz says it all went according to policy and that they only updated the numbers when fifteen precincts had reported in with ballots. Ortiz says otherwise they'd be updating vote results non-stop, "In between those reports, people do get anxious to continue receiving numbers and to them it might seem that people are not coming, but they are, they're coming in steady, but I cannot report every precinct that comes in until we've got a number of them to present."
