Cameron County court rooms were recently given a technological upgrade.
Prosecutors and Defense Attorneys may now access the internet inside the courtroom...

Chief First Assistant Chuck Mattingly said "we just recently purchased ipads for our courtrooms..."
Officials plan to use the google website and social networking sites as a new tool for jury selection.
Mattingly adds "these networking sites...twitter, facebook, myspace...etc...tell a lot of information about a person."

Court Officials only have basic information when selecting a jury like the person's employer or religion...
but now with the new wi fi connection officials will be able to look deeper into your personal life... using networks such as face-book.

Although face book gives the option to keep certain information private... Chief First Assistant Chuck Mattingly wont stop them from looking...
"Theres still a lot of information out there regardless of privacy settings.."

Mattingly tells us social networking sites have been used in criminal investigations within the last year... he says "If you don't want people to see what you are posting... then don't go on social networking sites and sir out your dirty laundry..."
