Cameron County commissioner facing corruption charges
BROWNSVILLE, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Cameron County Commissioner Ernie Hernandez Jr.'s attorney says his client is innocent until proven guilty.
The commissioner has been charged with eight counts of corruption which includes tampering with records. Defense attorney John Blaylock says Hernandez is not a crook and urges the people of Cameron County to look at the facts with an open mind.
Commissioner Hernandez is still running for re-election despite his charges.
