Part of balancing budget.

Attention drivers who use international crossing bridges, an increase in fees could be on the way, County Commissioners are discussing the issue at todays conty meeting, in order to help balance the county budget, which started off with a 5.6 million dollar deficit.
If the commission decides on this increase, the fees for automobiles, pickups and motorcycles, would increase from $2.25 to $2.50 a twenty five cent increase, the pedestrian fee would go from 60 cents to 65 cents, a five cent increase, that would generate and additional 708 thousand dollars.
The last time the bridge tolls were raised was about four years ago in 2005, and it was done for the same reason, to try and balance the budget.
