The dentist in an illegal practice is facing up to ten years in prison.

Santiago Martinez is looking at felony charges of practicing dentistry without a license.  Hidalgo County Sheriff's Deputies raided an illegal dentist office yesterday.  And there are three other accomplices who officials say will be arrested next week.

"The owners of the building and residents they knew exactly what occurred and they were being paid for using the residence as a dentist office," said Sheriff Lupe Trevino.  "Because they saw a need."

The Sheriff said Martinez was a professional; but working in Texas without a license is simply against the law.
