A burglar gets away with thousands and thousands in cash.
Now Brownsville police need your help tracking down the suspect who tore down walls to get what he wanted.
Investigators say his identity is hard to tell because of the mask and his fingers left behind no prints because of the gloves. Now authorities are relying on his mouth to help them solve the crime.
"Sometimes these individuals will blurt out some info, ya know, bragging that they committed an offense." says Eddie Garcia of the Brownsville Police Dept.
What they do know is this masked man knew exactly where he was going when he broke into an office building at the Luke Fruia auto dealership on Sunday afternoon.
“It appears that this individual knew the ins and outs of the business based on what was seen at the crime scene." said Garcia.
Authorities say he slammed his pry bar through a service window to get inside the building, but he wasn't exactly where he needed to be, it would take a little more breaking before getting to the cash.
He first tried to break through the sheet rock in one office but was unsuccessful; he then tried his luck in the neighboring office and made entry into the service warehouse. In that building was the office and cash he was targeting.
"He got away with several thousand dollars." says Garcia.
Police say he was in and out within a matter of minutes and left through the side parking lot in broad daylight.
If you have any information on this burglary you’re urged to call Brownsville Crime Stoppers at 546-tips. If your tip leads to an arrest and conviction you could land yourself a cash reward. To make the reward deal a little sweeter, the general manager at Luke Fruia is also kicking in $5,000 in cash.
