Cameron county sheriff deputies kept 600 pounds of marijuana from traveling north on a freight train on Friday.

Port officials called investigators when they saw suspicious activity around the freight train. What they found was more than 15 packages of marijuana under the train attached to the wheel axel. Deputies are now trying to determine who left the drugs under the train and where the marijuana was headed too.

The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $500,000 dollars and the investigation is on going.
