Brownsville woman indicted for voting multiple times

A former resident of Brownsville has been indicted for voting multiple times in a local 2012 runoff election.

Sonia Leticia Solis, 54, has been charged for voting five times, by absentee ballot, with five different individual names during the 2012 Cameron County primary local runoff election on July 13th.

The indictment was unsealed on August 20th after Solis was arrested in Fort Worth and she is expected to be ordered back to Brownsville.

If convicted, Solis faces a possible federal prison sentence of up to five years and a fine of $10,000.
