PUB employees delivered "Adopt an Angel" presents to Tip of Texas Family Outreach and Friendship of Women Inc. this morning.

The angel represents a child or a teen with a Christmas wish list item. PUB employees then purchase the items.

But this year, their delivery method was through a decorated bucket truck.

The bucket was supposed to be used in the parade last night, which was canceled. But PUB employees figured out another way to make use of the festive truck.

"We had these gifts that we wanted to deliver and so we thought, you know, let's have the Christmas spirit and venture out and kind of make an event of it a little bit," said PUB spokesperson Ryan Greenfield. "You wanna make sure everyone has a great holiday season. It's, you know, definitely something that could brighten up their day."

"They're happy, they're very excited," said Friendship of Women Inc. child advocate Evonne Lopez. "They don't really expect a lot. They think they're just gonna go have a Christmas party, but once they receive their gifts from Santa Claus, their face lights up...they're different people."

So far Brownsville PUB has donated more than 150 gifts to the cause.
