Police say he has no real type of target, but selects his victims at random.

Nestor Plata and an unidentified man are wanted for robbery. Police says Plata has five active warrants out for his arrest and is behind several thefts. Investigators say the suspect usually finds his victims out on the street, many of the robberies have been on the west side of town.

"He has threatened them that he is carrying a gun and on certain occasions he has displayed a handgun so he is considered armed and dangerous," said Brownsville Police Dept. PIO, Eddie Garcia.

The most recent robbery occurred at the end of last month near the 100 block of Midway near Pace
High School.

Police say the offenders drove up in a gold or tan Chevy Tahoe and stopped in front of the students who were headed back to campus. At that point, from inside the vehicle, the offenders demanded that the victims hand over their valuables.

The victims complied and handed over their belongings.

"He took their electronics, their i-pods, and cell phones as well,” said Garcia.

Some of Plata’s victims have ID'd him. Garcia says some distinct tattoos help this guy to stick out.

He has a star tattoo near the left temple of his head and a pair of red lips tattooed to the left side of his neck. He's also described as being about 5 feet five inches tall, weighing around 190 pounds.

If you have any information on Nestor Plata’s whereabouts, contact Brownsville Crime Stoppers at 546-TIPS.
