A difficult beginning to the New Year for BISD school officials became even more challenging yesterday after a Lopez high school sophomore brought two weapons onto school property. This comes less than a week after the fatal shooting at Cummings Middle School that claimed the life of 15-year-old Jaime Gonzalez. Brownsville police have also released the identities of the officers responsible for the shooting.
