Brownsville officials to host town hall meeting on parking meter price increase
BROWNSVILLE, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The City of Brownsville will consider what residents opinions are before implementing an increase to its downtown parking meters prices.
The city announced the price increase on the parking meters would go into affect on Wednesday from .25 cents to .75 cents per hour.
A town hall meeting is expected to be scheduled sometime later this month to discuss the increase.
Much of the public backlash comes from residents who frequent downtown and store owners who worry that they may lose business.
