BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — "My daughter is not aggressive; on the contrary for being noble, she is a victim of bullying."said mother Norma Garcia.
Garcia says her 12 year old daughter attends Garcia middle school.
She says her daughter was bullied October 10th by another student at the school.
"She had severe hits to the stomach, a damaged tooth, and she was severely beaten."said Garcia.
Garcia says her daughter was taken to the nurse at the school to get checked.
Garcia says she is upset with the school district her daughter was not taken to hospital.
On Saturday Garcia says she took her daughter to hospital where she received this report.
"I have papers that prove I took her to the hospital on Saturday that she received traumatic hits, and they had to treat her for an inflammation in her stomach, and this is not just, I don't know what's going to happen after this."said Garcia.
Garcia says she filed a report with police and the school district.
"They don't want to give me any information about the other girl."said Garcia.
We tried contacting the Brownsville Independent School District for a response. They declined to go on camera but say they are meeting with the parent and issued this statement.
"Both students are minors, which means the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act prevents Brownsville ISD from releasing any information about the two students or any details about the altercation. The district can say it has verified that the incident was handled immediately by the Garcia Middle School administration and appropriate disciplinary action was taken at the time of the incident."
