Brownsville elder honors

The City of Brownsville is celebrating its oldest and wisest residents.
It’s part of older American’s month.
150 non-angenarians and centenarians. Those in their 90s and older than a hundred years old were honored today.
Brownsville’s eldest resident, 106 year old, Ms. Judith champion. Received a special proclamation at today's ceremony.
The city manager says it's important to honor these members of our community because many have made it what it is today.
This is the fourteenth year the city has celebrated whom they refer to as the "treasures" of the community.
