Brownsville Community Health Center to host back to school health fair
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — In honor of National Health Center Week, the Brownsville Community Health Center will host a health fair this Saturday.
The kick-off event for National Health Center Week will be the "Back to School" children health fair. The event is aimed to help lower income families who cannot afford health insurance.
Health officials will give away 500 backpacks and parents can get their kids immunized for just $10. About two thousand people are expected to make it out to the health fair.
Alex Flores, from the Brownsville Community Health Center, stated, "It's well attended by the community. There's a lot of families that are in need for back to school supplies so we can help them that way. Health is an important component of it, so take your child in to get their annual physicals and get them immunized."
