Another Brownsville baseball team is off to the World Series. This time, the East Brownsville Bombers are on their way to Delaware.

The girls softball team beat Vidalia Louisiana and Texas East last weekend in Louisiana to advance to the World Series which begins Sunday.

Many of the girls have been playing together for 10 years and call the ball diamond at Lincoln Park their home.

Coach Julian Moya says that family mentality has been the key to their success this season.

Julian Moya, Assistant Coach, "they're all best friends so that closeness is what's making them play at a high level. They have a unique way of getting prepared. They just have fun. We don't pound them with repetitions and drills at practice and what not."

Sarah Sandoval, Pitcher/3B, "We don't go to the same schools, we play at different high schools. To come back and play with these girls again it's been amazing. I mean, I haven't played with them in forever so this is great. I think we had it the whole time. Yeah, we got a little nervous at times but we're one of those teams that never gives up."

The girls will be representing the Southwest Region of the country. If they make it to the finals, you can catch it on ESPN August 5th.
