BPUB Urging Customers to Reduce Electricity Use

Thursday, February 10, 2011 - 9:53am
Brownsville Public Utilities customers are being asked to reduce their use of electricity during peak demand hours over the next few day from 6 to 9 AM and 4 to 8 PM.
Officials say this will help reduce the risk of electricity emergencies or the need for rolling blackouts. BPUB is recommending the following to conserve electricity:
• Set the thermostat between 65 to 68 degrees.
• Turn off unnecessary electronics or appliances.
• Turn off the lights in any room not being used.
