Botanical Garden to be Restored

MCALLEN — The Botanical Gardens, also known as the McAllen Nature Center, could be getting a facelift after receiving offers from Texas A&M University and the Valley Land Fund to restore and preserve the park.
They're still in the preliminary stages, but will hold a meeting on April 18th and see where it goes from there. They'll try to determine how the two groups could work together. Parks & Rec Director Sally Gavlik stated, "To where we really have a win win for the community and bringing in outside resources whether they're edcuation, whether they're non-profits, so that we can have maximum benefit for Botanical Garden's and the citizens."
