Victim died of head injuries from weekend collision

A man whose car was struck by an off-duty Border Patrol Agent over the weekend has died. It happened on the corner of 10th and Nolana sunday morning. Police say the victim Abraham Sevilla was stopped at a red light when Adrian Parada slammed into his black Nissan Altima.
The crash pushed the victim's car into the intersection and struck a McAllen police unit. Police say several field sobriety tests were conducted on scene. Witnesses say Parada was heavily intoxicated.
The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition where he later died from head injuries.
Parada faced a judge wednesday afternoon. He was initially arrested for intoxication assault and the bond was set at $75,000. Since the victim died yesterday, his charges were elevated to intoxication manslaughter and the bond is now set at $150,000.
