Border Patrol agents seized nearly $2.5 million dollars worth of marijuana over the weekend in separate busts.

The largest single seizure came near the Roma area as agents seized 1,200 pounds after monitoring suspicious activity. In the second bust, near Los Ebanos, agents spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed away from the Rio Grande river. The agents encountered an abandoned Ford Expedition near Sullivan City with more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana inside.
