RIO GRANDE VALLEY - One of the largest drug bust occurred this past Friday when Border Patrol agents seized more than 2,400 pounds of marijuana on a ranch north of Roma.

On Monday, agents spotted several individuals loading bundles of marijuana onto a truck near the Rio Grande river and when the smugglers spotted the agents they abandoned more than 800 pounds of the drug and fled back into Mexico. Other seizures during those days brought the total amount of marijuana seized, from Thursday through Monday, to more than 15,000 pounds.
