Bondsman Sentenced to Federal Prison
BROWNSVILLE — A bail bondsman is headed to federal prison for his role in the bribery scandal involving former state district judge Abel Limas.
Francisco Cisneros received a sentence of sixteen months and pleaded guilty, last year, to aiding and abetting extortion. Cisneros admitted funneling bribes to Limas, who then made bond rulings favorable to a defendant in a criminal drug cast, in Lima's court. Eight defendants, including Limas, have entered guilty pleas resulting from the corruption investigation.
