Body Found On UTPA Campus
EDINBURG - UTPA Police are trying to figure out how a girl wound up dead in the middle of the UTPA campus Monday morning.
The University says the body was discovered near an external staircase by the Science Building just before 8:00 a.m. by construction workers.
The Edinburg police and the Texas Rangers are assisting UTPA police in the investigation.
Right now investigators are hoping autopsy results will help figure out how the young girl died.
UTPA police aren't sure if the girl is a student or not.
While the investigation continues, classes at the Science building will be on hold through Tuesday. Campus officials say the rest of the campus is in no danger and classes are to be attended as usual.
