Body Found Engulfed in Flames at La Joya

HIDALGO - County Sheriff deputies have launched an investigation, after a body was found engulfed in flames, following an overnight fire.

The explosion happened at an oil and gas, well site in LA Joya, near Mccook.

Investigators say firefighters responded to the scene, west of Jare Chinas and mile 14 line around midnight.

Multiple oil tanks were on fire, along with the body of a man who was found dead on the scene.

He was reportedly beside a truck that was also caught in flames.

Investigators say this is being treated as a suspicious death, and they're waiting for the autopsy results.
