Boating While Intoxicated big concern for TX Game Wardens
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Texas Game Wardens are patrolling the state's public waters, Labor Day might be a great time for a day on the water, but if you'll be operating a boat, authorities want you to think before drinking.
Boating while intoxicated, BWI, is reportedly more dangerous than drinking and driving a motor vehicle and the penalties are just as severe.
Texas Game Wardens arrested 195 individuals who were operating a boat while intoxicated so far this year.
Last year, Texas authorities investigated six BWI cases and nine boating accidents over the holiday.
